Creative Health: The Arts for Health and Wellbeing

This landmark report, published in 2017, is intended to raise awareness of the benefits of the arts for physical and mental health and wellbeing. It has three key messages – that the arts can:

  1. Help us to stay well, assist recovery and promote longer lives;
  2. Help confront challenges of ageing, long-term conditions, loneliness and mental health; and
  3. Help save money within the health service and social care.

You can view the full report and executive summary at the link below, as well as engage with a series of podcasts and videos featuring participants in conversation about their experiences.

“The Report presents the findings of two years of research, evidence-gathering and discussions with patients, health and social care professionals, artists and arts administrators, academics, people in local government, ministers, other policy-makers and parliamentarians from both Houses of Parliament.”
