Kate Fraser
Research Executive

Kate is an experienced arts and cultural researcher with a background in education and a particular interest in the impact of creative and cultural learning on children, young people and adults. She is based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Kate worked for over ten years in UK secondary schools as Head of History and prior to this as an English Language Teacher in Poland and Mexico. She has a BA in History from the University of Birmingham and a PGCE in Secondary History. Kate also holds an MA with Distinction in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester, where her research focused on place-based creative learning in museums and schools.

In recent years, Kate has worked and volunteered for cultural organisations including The National Coal Mining Museum for England and the National Trust. Alongside her work for Earthen Lamp, she works as a freelance programme manager for the Local Cultural and Education Partnership in Wakefield on a wide range of projects including cultural organisations, artists and young people.

Kate loves the outdoors and when not working, she can be found running or walking with her dog on the Yorkshire hills.
